Xabi Alonso leaves Chelsea star's agents 'in fear' after Arsenal defeat

Xabi Alonso has left a Chelsea star's agent fearing that the player might struggle for regular first-team game time this season following Sunday's defeat at Arsenal Estevao's camp are worried that Xabi Alonso will continue to use him at right wing-back for Chelsea, it has been claimed. The 19-year-old, who joined the Blues in a £29million deal from Palmeiras last summer, made 38 appearances during his first season at Stamford Bridge, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. But Estevao's game time has been reduced so far this term following Xabi Alonso's appointment as the club's first-team manager. Alonso has started with a three-at-the-back formation in each of his first two Premier League matches with two defensive-minded midfielders, two attacking midfielders and one centre forward. FC Barcelona Officially Announces First Team Player Transfer

Via the club’s website and its social media accounts, FC Barcelona has officially announced the outgoing transfer of La Masia product Dro Fernandez to Paris Saint-Germain.

“FC Barcelona and PSG have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Pedro Fernandez 'Dro’ to the French club,” Barca wrote in a statement, before wishing the youngster “all the best for the future both on and off the field”.

The Galician player brings to an end his three and a half season stint as a blaugrana. He came to the club in the summer of 2022 from the youth teams at Valmiñor and this season he has made five appearances for the first team and three for Barça Atletic,” the Catalans then added, to terminate the short correspondence.

On the Friday before a weekend loss to Real Sociedad earlier this month, news that Dro had told head coach Hansi Flick he would leave the club through his release clause being triggered by a then-unnamed outfit came as a bombshell in Catalonia.

The following day, it was then revealed that the buying club in question was Paris Saint-Germain, with its manager and Barca legend Luis Enrique reportedly involved in personally convincing Dro to switch allegiances during a meeting he flew to Barcelona for.

At a press conference to preview the defeat against La Real, Flick fired a warning to La Masia products and their entourages by saying: “We are Barca. Here you can grow, train with the best players, and get full support … If you want to play at Barca, then it’s 100% with your whole heart. You have to live for Barca’s colours. All the others, I do not want.”

As he personally promoted Dro from the reserves and handed him his senior debut, Flick is said to have called the shock move the “biggest disappointment of my life”, which resulted in the teenager being sent to train away from the rest of the first team squad.

With less than a week to spare before the window closes until summer, the transfer involving PSG and FC Barcelona has now been confirmed.
